AMD EPYC™ Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our high-performance bare metal infrastructure.

What is a Bare Metal server?

A bare metal server is a physical server dedicated to a single tenant. Unlike a VPS, there is no virtualization layer (hypervisor), meaning you have direct access to 100% of the hardware resources.

Why choose AMD EPYC over Intel Xeon?

AMD EPYC processors generally offer a higher core count and significantly more memory bandwidth per socket, making them superior for virtualization, heavy databases, and AI workloads.

Which EPYC generation do you deploy?

We primarily use 3rd Gen (Milan) and 4th Gen (Genoa/Bergamo) EPYC processors to ensure our clients benefit from the latest Zen architecture and PCIe 4.0/5.0 capabilities.

Do I get full root access?

Yes. You receive full administrative/root access to the operating system of your choice. You have total control over the server environment.

How long does setup take?

Standard AMD EPYC configurations are typically provisioned within 2 to 4 hours. Custom builds or high-capacity storage nodes may take up to 24 hours.

Is the 10Gbps network shared?

Each server is equipped with a 10Gbps physical port. While the backbone is redundant, we ensure high-burst capacity so your applications never bottleneck during peak traffic.

Can I upgrade my RAM or Storage later?

Yes, our bare metal servers are scalable. You can request RAM upgrades or additional NVMe/SATA drives by opening a ticket with our technical team.

Where is my data physically located?

Your data stays in Canada. You can choose between our Tier III facilities in Montreal (QC) or Toronto (ON) during the configuration process.

Is DDoS protection included for free?

Yes, our standard 20Gbps Canadian DDoS shield is included with every bare metal node. Enterprise-grade unlimited mitigation is available as an add-on.

Ready for Maximum Performance?

Deploy your AMD EPYC bare metal node today in Montreal or Toronto.
