How Many Websites Can You Host on One Plan?

Published on May 01, 2026 Updated on Jul 31, 2026 2 views

Hosting plans often advertise a specific number of websites, but what actually counts toward that limit can be confusing.

What Counts as a Website

Each unique domain or addon domain you host under one account generally counts as one website — whether it's yourdomain.com or a completely separate domain you also own.

Subdomains Are Usually Free

A subdomain like blog.yourdomain.com is typically not counted against your website limit, since it belongs to a domain you already host.

Single-Site vs Multi-Site Plans

Entry-level plans are often limited to one website, which is fine if you're only launching one project. Mid and higher tiers usually allow multiple addon domains, useful if you manage a personal site and a side project on the same account.

Shared Resources, Not Shared Isolation

Keep in mind that multiple sites on one account share the same CPU and RAM pool. A traffic spike on one site can affect the others, so heavily trafficked projects are usually better off on their own plan or a VPS.
