Whether you're consolidating multiple addresses into one inbox or heading on vacation, Plesk makes both email forwarding and autoresponders easy to set up.
Setting Up Email Forwarding
- Log into Plesk and go to Mail.
- Click on the email address you want to forward.
- Open the Forwarding tab.
- Check Switch on mail forwarding and enter the destination address.
- Click OK.
You can forward to any external address (Gmail, Outlook, etc.) or to another mailbox on your own domain. A copy can also be kept on the server if you enable Keep a copy of forwarded messages.
Setting Up an Autoresponder
- In Plesk, go to Mail and select the mailbox.
- Open the Auto-Reply tab.
- Check Switch on auto-reply.
- Write your subject and message (e.g. "Thank you for your email. I'm currently out of office and will respond by [date].").
- Optionally set a start and end date so it turns off automatically.
- Click OK to activate.
Good to Know
- Autoresponders typically only reply once per sender within a 24-hour period to avoid mail loops.
- You can combine forwarding and auto-reply on the same mailbox.
- Remember to disable the autoresponder when you're back — it's easy to forget!
