Microcopy is the small text throughout an interface — button labels, form hints, error messages, tooltips — that's easy to overlook but has outsized influence on user confidence.
Be Specific, Not Generic
"Submit" tells a user little; "Send My Message" confirms exactly what will happen, reducing hesitation before clicking.
Anticipate Confusion
A brief helper text next to a form field asking for something ambiguous (like a specific ID format) prevents errors before they happen.
Write Like a Helpful Person, Not a System
"Oops, something went wrong. Please try again" feels more human and less alarming than a raw technical error message.
