DNS information is cached at multiple points between your browser and the authoritative nameserver, each holding onto answers for a while to speed things up.

Where Caching Happens

Your browser, your operating system, your router, and your ISP's resolver can all hold a cached copy of a DNS answer, each with its own expiration timing.

When Clearing Helps

If you've recently changed a DNS record and still see the old result, clearing your local DNS cache (or trying a different network) sometimes shows the update sooner, though upstream caches are outside your control.
