Why Not Just Use Physical Separation?

Separating a hosting provider's customer traffic from internal management traffic, or isolating different departments' devices on a corporate network, are typical VLAN applications.
Do You Need One?
Most hosting customers never configure VLANs directly — it's infrastructure-level networking handled by the hosting provider, relevant mainly to those managing multi-server private networks.
